Sweet Cups Cafe – Budget-Friendly Coffee Shop in Quezon City

is the vision behind Sweet Cups Cafe - a brand created by young couples Wynona Ocampo and Mick Uy, who were classmates at De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde.

These young couple love going to coffee shops and later on decided to put up their own with the mission of serving good food while making sure that their customers' health is on top of the priority. The interest of creating Sweet Cups Cafe can be traced back to when they were younger and were both dreaming of creating something big for themselves.

Wynona's dream, ever since, was to have her own cafe while Mick, now a Culinary Arts Management Graduate, wanted to create a restaurant but admitted that it would be hard for him to sustain and would need such a big capital to start the business. Unlike in putting up a cafe, one can focus more on drinks and little-by-little introduce the menu. Both became sweethearts, got the same interest for business, invested, and came up with Sweet Cups Cafe.

Sweet Cups Cafe was initially started as a humble kiosk way back in 2023 when Wynona was in her junior year in Architecture while Mick had just graduated from college. The dream was for them to put up a cafe but since budget was still tight for these starting entrepreneurs, they settled first for a kiosk but made sure that their vision for the brand and commitment to the customers were already present and could easily be felt.

Preparing for this cafe became a journey for them - from research and development to Mick becoming a certified barista to finding the best location to creating the best menu that suits their tastebuds and customers would appreciate and love.

Wynona and Mick are hopeful that someday they'll have another branch and soon will be able to offer franchise to interested entrepreneurs like them. When asked about their mantra, they replied:

"You just need to believe in your brand no matter how small it is because it will eventually grow. Don't just chase money; revolve your resources by reinvesting in the brand’s growth."

And when asked to describe their brand, they replied:

"Affordable. Quality. Clean. It's affordable but has the same quality and level of taste with pricey brands."
