Brazilian Movie: Caramelo

Don't watch this movie is you don't like crying.

If you are a fan of human-dog relationship, then this movie is really for you. And if you are angry with irresponsible owners, who have guts at abandoning a puppy, then be prepared to be angry as this movie will surely show you a sad reality of how a pet puppy would end up being a stray.

Is the movie good? It depends on how you weigh good per se. The only thing that I can tell you is that the last time I cried this hard for a dog movie was when I finished watching "Marley and Me" way back in college. Though the ending was different for these two movies, both gave the same vibe of smiles and cries. In "Caramelo", the wonderful scoring of its music plus the dramatic scene of sunset by the beach will definitely make one cry.

But this movie is not just about who cries and who doesn't. This movie is a demonstration of how love connects species. The love that we give to animals is the same love that is being reciprocated to us but in a much different and grander scale. At the end of the day, It is not just about how much we changed their lives, but how much ours have changed ever since we let them in our lives.

To all the people behind this movie, thank you for bringing such masterpiece into life. You did great there. I am still crying as of this writing. Thank you for showing us how sweet, playful, and lovable strays are and how a love can spark between two strangers. After all, love can be anywhere. Sometimes, it is in a form of a stray dog.

To all my readers from Brazil (1,000+ visitors came from this country for the past 7 days and 8,000+ visits in total since the existence of this blog), be proud because you have such good movies in Netflix. Hope this movie will inspire you to give strays a chance for love and life.

How about you? What are your thoughts about "Caramelo"? Feel free to leave a comment.
